Hello! I am Wongyu Seo
I graduated with a degree in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from GIST (Gwangju Institute of Science and Technology), where I conducted research related to the ARC (Abstraction and Reasoning Challenge) at the Data Science Lab of the GIST AI Graduate School.
My career began at Korea Rating & Data (KoDATA), a leading credit bureau (CB) in Korea, where I worked as a credit risk consultant. I designed and developed credit rating models and early warning systems for major Korean financial institutions including Hana Financial Group, IBK, and NongHyup, and conducted third-party model validation for credit risk rating frameworks. Coming from an engineering background, I approached credit risk problems with a strong emphasis on quantitative methods, machine learning, and model interpretability — while ensuring alignment with regulatory expectations.
Currently, I am working at Korea Securities Finance Corp. (KSFC) within the Information Security Team, responsible for information security governance, compliance, and personal credit information protection. While the shift from credit risk to information security may appear lateral, the underlying thread remains consistent — managing and mitigating risk within financial systems through structured, data-informed frameworks.
With a foundation in engineering and practical experience across credit risk and financial security, I aim to bridge the technical and institutional dimensions of risk management in the financial industry.
Thank you.
